One Piece Episode 1134 was absolutely gut-wrenching as Bartholomew Kuma learned the cost of curing his daughter. After meeting with Dr. Vegapunk, Kuma was positive that his daughter would finally be free of the Sapphire Scale disease. Vegapunk didn’t even make any absurd demands. All he wanted was to use Kuma’s Lineage Factor to create Pacifista, which he believed would bring peace to the entire world.

Saint. Jaygarcia Saturn Intervenes With Bonney’s Treatment
Upon learning about Kuma’s request, Jaygarcia Saturn decided to take full advantage of it. The Godhead was willing to let Bonney get treated by Vegapunk, but he thought Kuma was getting too good of a deal, so he made three absurd demands. The first condition was that Bartholomew Kuma must become a Shichibukai. The Godhead explained that the Marines were looking for a replacement after Portgas D. Ace took down Hanafuda, another Shichibukai.
Jaygarcia Saturn’s second demand was for Kuma to undergo the process of becoming a human weapon. Kizaru agreed that Kuma would make for a powerful ally, which would greatly benefit the Marines. The third and final condition was that Kuma had to let go of his humanity and free will. The Godhead pointed out that Kuma would pose a threat to the World Government after the scientific modifications, so it was important that he give up his humanity.
Dr. Vegapunk, who was hearing the demands, was appalled by Saturn’s words, but deep down, he knew that arguing with Saturn would be foolish. Meanwhile, Kuma had already made up his mind and agreed to the conditions because all he wanted was for Bonney to live. If the three conditions weren’t bad enough, Jaygarcia Saturn said that Kuma could not meet Bonney after the treatment was complete. Once again, Kuma had no problem agreeing with the demand, because Bonney’s life was of paramount importance to him.
The remainder of the episode covers Kuma’s travels around the world as he becomes a full-fledged pirate. When the Shichibukai learned about the newest member of the group, they were all rather surprised. Towards the end, Kuma writes a letter to Bonney, whom he kept in the Sorbet Kingdom, under Connie’s protection. It’s quite obvious that Kuma made the decision to stay away from Bonney with a heavy heart, and he would have never agreed if it wasn’t tied to her treatment. Even after being away from Bonney, Kuma remembered her by basing his jolly roger on one of her drawings.

One Piece Episode 1135 will be released on July 6, 2025. It is titled “To the Sea Where My Father Is! The Future Bonney Chooses.” The episode will focus on Kuma as he travels around the world. Previously, fans saw Kuma receive an order from the World Government whilst he was in East Blue. The instructions weren’t revealed, but fans did see a young Luffy while the order was being given out. So, it’s possible that Kuma has to go someplace that’s close to Luffy’s location.

It also feels that Bartholomew Kuma’s flashback is nearly at an end. There aren’t many more episodes left, so the anime will soon focus on the current events happening on Egghead Island, where Saint. Jaygarcia Saturn, Kizaru, and the Marines are trying to annihilate Dr. Vegapunk and his satellites.
