In Path of Exile 2, players will need to complete four Acts and a few Interludes to complete the story. While all the Acts are challenging, Act 4 is a level above the others in difficulty.
If you want to complete Act 4 of Path of Exile 2 without a hitch, you can find a full walkthrough here. This article will contain all the main story quests, where to go, and who you need to chat with to get this hard Act done.
This article will be as spoiler-free as possible, but there are still some story spoilers for Act 4 of Path of Exile 2.
Path of Exile 2 Act 4 Walkthrough
The first couple of quests in the main story in PoE2‘s Act 4 are going to be incredibly simple, and you will probably be able to figure them out all on your own. These steps will be:
Talk to Doryani: This NPC will be within view of where you load in for Act 4, so it will be hard to miss him.
Meet up with Alva: After speaking to Doryani, you will need to sprint in PoE2 to Kingsmarch to meet up with Alva.
Talk to Alva: Again, Alva will be hard to miss; she will be right in front of you talking to Rog, who should be a familiar face for those who played PoE1.
Take the boat charter from Rog: Rog will offer to help you get a boat to get to the Karui Archipelago.
Talk to Makoru: Makoru is the captain that Rog directed you to; she will be on the ship docked in the eastern part of Kingsmarch. Chatting with her, you learn the ship is called the Aurora May, and Makoru agrees to help you get about to the various places you need to go. After this, a map will pop up with all your options for destinations. You can click on thePoE2 map icons next to each destination to get a quick little description.
Setting Sail with Makoru in Path of Exile 2 Act 4
Once you have the option to move around on the ship, you will need to choose from several locations. Some of these will be main story quests, while others will be side quests. If you are trying to finish the story as quickly as possible, you can just get the main quests completed and move on. Here they are in the best order to complete them in:
Whakapanu Island in the north
The Abandoned Prison in the east
Shrike Island in the southwest
Whakapanu is a great place to start if you want to complete some or all of the side quests, because it will give you goals for Anje and an optional, challenging PoE2 boss. Each of the other islands will have the weapon pieces that you are looking for to complete the main story.
Diamora, Song of Death boss: located in the Singing Caverns to get the Shoreline Hideoutand a Weapon Piece
The Abandoned Prison
Head to Solitary Confinement and look for the Fortified Door
The Prisoner boss: gives one Weapon Piece
Shrike Island
Scourge of the Skies boss: across the bridge, gives one Weapon Piece
Reforging the Weapon Pieces in Path of Exile 2 Act 4
After completing all three islands, you will need to meet up with Makoru again in Kingsmarch. Her First Mate will tell you that you should head to Arastas Island to put the pieces of the weapon together. Sail to Arastas, then head into the church to speak with Missionary Lorandis. You will need to then break the barrier and defeat some enemies.
Follow the First Herald, keeping an eye out for any Temple Bells along the way, as they hold currency you won’t want to miss. At the end of this road, you will find the next boss you will need to down, named Torvian, Hand of the Savior. If you are having trouble with this boss and his AoE attacks, you should check out this walkthrough on how to kill Torvian in PoE2. The next steps will lead you into a maze.
Enter the Excavation
Hug one of the walls and keep walking to find the ending
Find the boss room
Kill Benedictus, First Herald of Utopia
Enter the Excavated Site
Witness the Hooded One reforge the weapon
Return to Kingsmarch
Find a Way to Ngakanu
The ship’s cook, Rhodri in Kingsmarch, is willing to help you get to Ngakanu to catch up with the newly forged weapon that is on the run. Once at Ngakanu, you will need to get through yet another maze. Again, the best method is to hug one side and keep moving through until you find the entrance to the Heart of the Tribe. Once you enter the Heart of the Tribe, keep a lookout for the Meeting House; it has a bonus objective that will get you a pile of free loot. After that, continue through the Heart until you run into Tavakai.
Tavakai Boss Battle
When you first encounter Tavakai, you will need to get him down to 50% health to trigger the next part of the fight. He will then transform into the second phase of this fight, named Tavakai the Fallen. He’ll then take off into the night, and you need to pursue him. For both the first and second phases of this fight, you will want to stick to the basics: roll out of the way of his big combos and keep an eye on the floor for AoE attacks. The third and final phase will be Tavakai the Consumed, where he will heal to full, and you need to defeat him again.
After the battle, you will return to Kingsmarch again, and you have to speak to the Hooded One. This is the end of Act 4 and the beginning of the Interludes. Make sure you visit the Isle of Kin at this point to defeat the boss there and get two additional PoE2 passive skill points before heading to the first Interlude.
