Pokemon GO has announced a new Legendary Shadow Raid event featuring Shadow Giratina and Shadow Kyogre for August 2025. Several events have been revealed for the upcoming weeks as Pokemon GO‘s Delightful Days season approaches its final stage.
Earlier in July, Pokemon GO unveiled a new Ultra Unlock event with the return of Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia Raids in early August. The Legendary pair can know special Adventure Effects that help players catch more Pokemon easily. Since Dialga and Palkia are some of the strongest monsters in the game, many players were excited about the news. Now, another incredibly tough duo from Hoenn and Sinnoh is also coming to Pokemon GO in a week-long event.
Niantic confirms that a brand-new Pokemon GO Research Day event will be held in August 2025, giving players more Shiny hunting opportunities.
Pokemon GO has confirmed its Delightful Days: Taken Over event will run from Monday, August 11, at 12:00 AM to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 11:59 PM. During the event, Team GO Rocket recruits will appear more frequently at PokeStops and balloons. Additionally, shiny Salandit will make its in-game debut. Fans can also unlock Special Research that rewards a Super Rocket Radar. After defeating Giovanni in Pokemon GO, players will have a chance to rescue Shadow Giratina. It is worth noting that fans can claim this Special Research until the end of the Delightful Days season on September 2, 2025. Finally, Shadow Kyogre will make its debut in Shadow Raids, as the Water-Type Legendary will appear in five-star Raids from August 16 at 6:00 AM to August 17 at 10:00 PM. For these two days, players will receive an extra Raid Pass at Gyms.
