Pokemon GO has officially unveiled the newest Raid Day event coming to the game to close out August, featuring the Mega Evolution of a fan-favorite Pokemon. Niantic offers a wide variety of different ways for players to capture Pokemon within the mobile game, featuring several different types of events for players to experience. Raid Days have become a fan-favorite part of Pokemon GO‘s schedule, offering the chance for players to pick up some of the game’s most powerful Pokemon. Raid Days feature a particular Pokemon taking over the game’s Gyms, offering the chance to battle the Pokemon several times during the event period with increased Shiny rates. Raid Day events often include elusive or special Pokemon for players to capture, with events like the Dialga and Palkia Origin Raid Day earlier this month. Now, Pokemon GO is rolling out the details for its next Raid Day.

Pokemon GO officially revealed the next Raid Day event coming to the game earlier this week via its official social media accounts, teasing a classic Pokemon in the spotlight. The next Raid Day event will offer Mega Gyarados as its featured Pokemon, with fans able to challenge Mega Gyarados with increased Shiny rates throughout the event on August 31. Any Mega Gyarados found in a Raid during the event will sport Aqua Tail as its Charged Attack, with Pokemon GO also increasing fans’ Remote Raid Pass limit during the event. Mega Gyarados Raid Day is set to run from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. local time on August 31.
