Aggro Crab’s popular co-op game Peak reached a significant milestone nearly a month after launch. Released on June 16, 2025, Peak challenges up to four players to scale a mountain and overcome various obstacles to reach the top, but one small mistake could end their adventure. The mountain also changes every night to make it funnier and more challenging for players to finish the game.

Peak started out as a “game jam” that was developed earlier this year, and was eventually released as a full game in Steam within a few months. Since then, Aggro Crab’s funny multiplayer title quickly saw a lot of success, recording millions of sales and a growing playerbase that loves its quirky survival gameplay that’s reminiscent of Don’t Starve. Nearly a month after its release, Aggro Crab announced on social media that Peak already sold a whopping 5 million copies. This comes shortly after Peak‘s update 1.7 was released, which added quality of life gameplay features and increased localization, among many others. In a social media post, Aggro Crab seemed surprised by its record-breaking success in such a short amount of time.

The success of the game really shows the growing popularity of co-op titles in today’s gaming landscape, especially with the likes of Hazelight Studios’ Split Fiction and Semiwork Studios’ REPO becoming hits. This also spells good news because this will give Aggro Crab more resources to bring its future plans for Peak into fruition.

Considering its popularity and high replayability, Peak has cemented its position as one of the best co-op games to play with friends and possibly become Twitch’s most-played multiplayer game of 2025. As long as Aggro Crab continues to add exciting new features to keep the game fresh, Peak could maintain its dedicated fanbase and also continue growing in sales.
