Rockstar Games Social Club seems to have been shut down, with visits to the URL redirecting players to the main website for the developer. The Rockstar Games Social Club initially got its start way with Grand Theft Auto 4, and after all these years, it seems that the studio is moving on from it.
The Rockstar Games Social Club has been a social tie-in website that allows users to view a number of stats, player profiles, videos, and more for the majority of Rockstar Games studio releases, with GTA 4‘s DLC, Max Payne 3, L.A. Noire, GTA 5 and its Online component, Red Dead Redemption 2 and its Online mode, and GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition all having utilized the service. However, it seems that it’s now defunct, and only a portion of its features have been carried over.

The recent arrival of a surprise Red Dead Online update fuels fan speculation about Rockstar’s potential near-term plans for RDR2.
As reported by videotechuk_, the Rockstar Games Social Club now redirects to the standard Rockstar Games homepage. At the time of publication, a number of features are no longer available as a result, including the ability to look at player profiles, walls, and both shared screenshots and videos. However, not everything is missing. Players of Rockstar Games titles can still access their GTA crews via the GTA Online website, and game progress completion can be viewed via the standard Rockstar Games site. Players can also still view their friends lists, but no in-depth details about the individual users.
While this change may seem abrupt, especially since Rockstar hasn’t made an official announcement about it, Rockstar Games Social Club has seemingly been approaching its end since late 2023. On November 20, 2023, the site received an update that removed nearly all references to the Social Club. While the basic information remained the same, the wording was changed, altering things like “Social Club members” to “Rockstar Games members” and “Social Club account” was instead referred to as “Rockstar Games account.” Considering over a year has passed since, though, some may not have expected the full shutdown to happen at this time.
Chances are that Rockstar has plans to create a new platform that will be tied into Grand Theft Auto 6 when it releases. While this change is the end of an era for Rockstar Games and its fans, numerous players seem pleased to see the company move away from the Social Club. Players have pointed to issues with glitches, poor performance, and even alleged crew hijacking. Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch in May 2026, so a replacement system will likely appear by then.
