This article contains spoilers for One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.

One Piece chapter 1156 was absolutely incredible, to say the least, as it built up the Elbaf arc even more and added to the excitement surrounding the Loki flashback. Amidst all the incredible reveals that Oda has been making, fans also got a good glimpse of the legendary Roger Pirates in One Piece 1156, and at the same time, they were shown in an exhilarating battle against the Kuja Pirates as well.

It comes as a surprise to many that while the Roger Pirates were deemed invincible, they actually had a very hard time against the Kuja Pirates and even the captain, Roger, was no match, which Oda clearly depicted. In doing so, Oda also showed clearly that there is one female character who can easily defeat even the Pirate King Roger, and it’s Boa Hancock.

Roger Stood No Chance Against Shakky

  • Roger Was Completely Overwhelmed
  • The Roger Pirates Couldn’t Fight At Their Best

The clash between the Roger Pirates and the Kuja Pirates was actually quite surprising. Most One Piece fans assumed that the Roger Pirates would easily be able to resist the charm of the Kuja and fight to their best. However, Oda confirms in One Piece chapter 1156 that this wasn’t the case. If anything, the Kuja Pirates absolutely dominated this battle. The Roger Pirates couldn’t fight to the best of their abilities and they stood absolutely no chance. In this era, the Kuja were worshipped as idols all across the world, and Shakky was known as the most beautiful of them all. Quite clearly, even Roger couldn’t avoid being charmed by her.

Move aside, Gloriosa! You’re blocking Shakuyaku! — Roger to Gloriosa

Fans even saw Roger being absolutely overwhelmed by Shakky’s beauty, unable to do anything against her. If there was any victor in this battle, it was Shakky and the Kuja. This practically confirms that Boa Hancock could actually have taken on the Pirate King as well.

Boa Hancock Is Even Above Shakky In Power And Beauty

Hancock Is The World’s Most Beautiful Woman

When it comes to the Kuja, strength is beauty. As such, Shakky being the most beautiful despite Gloriosa being the captain clearly implies that Shakky was the stronger of the two. Yet, Shakky was just naturally beautiful. Compared to her, Boa Hancock is actually one step above. Not only is Hancock naturally the most beautiful, but on top of that, she has the Mero Mero no Mi. This fruit charms just about anyone, with only a few exceptions.

I will never bow down to any man! — Boa Hancock

Hancock can petrify just about anyone, and the fact that even Roger was charmed by Shakky means that, hypothetically, if Hancock and Roger were face to face, she would most definitely charm him and petrify him too.

Hancock Can Defeat The Pirate King

Roger being susceptible to beauty and charm only goes to show that the idea that Hancock’s power is useless against top tiers is an absolute lie. Hancock can easily charm and defeat almost anyone in the world, and that includes the former Pirate King. She might not have more raw power than him or even better Haki, but that matters little when she can just petrify him, and Oda just confirmed that in One Piece chapter 1156.

One Piece Chapter 1156 will be out this week. As usual, One Piece is going to drop on Sunday. In Japan, One Piece drops at 12AM JST on Monday.
