Schedule 1 has given another update on when players can expect to play the big upcoming Cartel update. Solo developer Tyler (TVGS) has been hard at work on the next major Schedule 1update, and players don’t have long to wait now until they can give it a try.
The Cartel update is the first piece of Schedule 1 content voted on by the game’s community. Players are able to have their voices heard in the title via community voting, the first of which was held back in June. In the first vote, players could choose between a Police Expansion update, a Shrooms update, or a Rival Cartel update. The latter won with a huge 64% of the vote, and was touted upon its announcement to “introduce more of a mid-to-late-game challenge.”
Schedule 1’s Cartel Update is Coming to Beta Branch “in the Next Day or Two”
In a post on X, Schedule 1 developer Tyler revealed that the upcoming Cartel update is now 98% done, but described the last 2% as “a real b****.” While thanking players for their patience, Tyler revealed that the update will be available in the game’s beta branch “in the next day or two,” so the wait for fans is almost over. However, it’s not clear when the build will be pushed out to all players after its beta period.
The initial plan was for Schedule 1 to release the Cartel update earlier this week, although it appears to have slipped that deadline. Tyler acknowledged this is his post, though, stating that he’ll “try to be a bit more accurate with my timelines for future updates.” At the moment, it seems that Tyler is still working on the game alone, which could explain the delays in updates missing their deadlines.
Beyond the Cartel update, it’s presumed that another vote will be held to see what’s coming to Schedule 1 next. Fans expecting to see the game exiting Early Access any time soon will be disappointed, though. It was revealed earlier this year that Schedule 1‘s full release is still two to three years away, even with the intention to hire more developers on the game. Despite its unfinished state, it’s still a blast to play, so it’ll be exciting to see what gets added to the game in the future.
