Schedule 1‘s next major update will add the fourth substance type, expand its selection of production tools, and introduce a range of new features. Since launch, Schedule 1 has stayed fresh with constant updates, and the developer has even created a public Trello board where fans can see which features are being planned for future patches.
Recently, Schedule 1 released the long-awaited Rival Cartel update, which was well-received by the community, with most players praising the wide range of content it added. Almost immediately after its release, Tyler, the game’s solo developer, began working on the next major update, asking fans what features they wanted to see next.
New Things Coming in Schedule 1’s ‘Shrooms’ Update
A new supplier
New Shrooms-specific production equipment and tools
Some new multi-use production equipment, which can be used for Shrooms as well as some of the existing drugs
New effects and ingredients
New customers
Over 490,000 fans participated in Schedule 1‘s second community vote. With nearly 270,000 votes, the winner was none other than Shrooms. According to the developer, Shrooms will be the fourth substance type in the game, expanding Schedule 1‘s roster of ingredients and tools. As for the release date, Tyler has not provided a specific timeline to avoid another delay, but fans can expect the Shrooms update to arrive sometime between mid-October and late November.
Other options in the community poll were Drivers, which received 139,000 votes, and Fishing, which got 85,000. Tyler wants fans to know that these two features will not be shelved and that players will have the chance to vote for them again in upcoming polls. The goal of these community voting events seems to be setting the priority of patches, not deciding which features will be added to the game.

Luckily for fans, Schedule 1‘s Shrooms update won’t be limited to just a new substance and its production tools. Tyler teased that there will be multi-use production equipment that can also be used for other drug types. Even better, the upcoming patch is expected to expand the list of Effects in Schedule 1, likely giving fans more creative options to enhance their products.
Noting that he learned a lesson from Schedule 1‘s Rival Cartel update delays, Tyler explained that he needs some time between the Shrooms update and the Halloween patch slated for October 31. Not much is known about this thematic October update yet, though fans are excited about the possibility of a special event or a Halloween-themed overhaul for the town. For now, fans will have to wait for the developer to release more news about this patch and the details of the community-requested Shrooms update.
