Sega recently trademarked Arcade Paradise, which could indicate that the publisher has plans to announce a new game with this title during the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. Previous reports have suggested that Sega will make several exciting announcements during the Tokyo Game Show event, and this title could potentially be a collection of the publisher’s old-school arcade games.
What makes this move curious is that, as some gamers may already know, a title called Arcade Paradise already exists. Developed by Nosebleed Interactive and published by Wired Productions in 2022, Arcade Paradise is a business simulation game in which the player turns a laundromat into an arcade. However, it’s somewhat unlikely that the trademark was related to this game, as the title already has another publisher in Japan, which is not Sega.
As spotted by Push Square, Sega filed a trademark for Arcade Paradise on September 19. It’s already known that Sega will reveal four unannounced titles during the Tokyo Game Show later this week, so there’s speculation that this new Arcade Paradise could be featured among them. Sega delisted many classic games from digital storefronts last year and has a wealth of arcade games, so this could mean that a new collection is in the works and will be announced during the major event. Obviously, this is just speculation, and gamers should take it with a huge grain of salt, especially when considering that one game called Arcade Paradise already exists, which makes all predictions harder to make with certainty.
What’s certain is that gamers are excited to learn more about Sega’s projects during the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. Last week, references to Yakuza Kiwami 3 were leaked on RGG Studio’s website, leading some fans to believe that the game would be announced during the event. The existence of Yakuza Kiwami 3 seems likely, especially when considering that Like a Dragon’s series director Masayoshi Yokoyama revealed that RGG Studio was considering remaking Yakuza 3 a while ago, and hinted that it would happen “sooner or later.”
Whatever this trademark for Arcade Paradise is, gamers may only discover more information about it during the Tokyo Game Show, which will take place between September 25 and 28. Hopefully, the event will come with exciting announcements for Sega fans, as Tokyo Game Show is one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world. Fans can also expect announcements from other major companies like Square Enix, Konami, and Capcom.
