Bethesda’s 2023 space action-RPG, Starfield, could be gearing up for a Nintendo Switch 2 release in 2026, according to a reliable industry insider. Starfield received mixed reviews when it was released for Xbox Series X/S and PC nearly two years ago, but it looks like that isn’t stopping Microsoft from porting the title to other platforms, as rumors of a PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 release continue to swirl.
Rumors of Starfield making its way to PlayStation 5 have been circulating online for most of the year, but talks of a Nintendo Switch 2 port conveniently come just one month after Bethesda teased its future plans for Starfield. While the studio didn’t outright state what it had in store for fans, it did say that it was working on “exciting things” for the RPG that would be shared in the coming months. After the disappointing Shattered Space DLC, many are hoping to see Bethesda revisit the drawing board and bring players a second DLC in the future. But with rumors now pointing to the game’s release on another platform, it could be that Bethesda is actually working on bringing Starfield to Nintendo’s flagship console.
Starfield Reportedly Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026
Since its launch back in June, the Nintendo Switch 2 has accumulated some big-name AAA titles, including Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, and more. Now it looks like Starfield could be next on the list, as reliable insider NateTheHate (via VGC) has claimed that “Indiana Jones & the Great Circle won’t be the only Bethesda game coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.” The leaker went on to state that “aside from landing on PlayStation 5,” Starfield is also planned to release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Ever since Microsoft adjusted its strategy to release more Xbox games on PlayStation, fans have been patiently waiting for Starfield to make its way to PlayStation 5. Rumors of the port have been circulating for most of the year, but a recent report claimed that the controversial RPG won’t be coming to Sony’s flagship console until Spring 2026. This is disappointing news for fans who have yet to jump into the title, as previous reports had claimed that Starfield would be ready to make the jump to PS5, along with a second DLC, later this year.
While rumors and leaks continue to take over the internet, fans will have to continue playing the waiting game to find out if there is any truth to the many claims. Although Bethesda says “exciting things” are on the way, fans have been left continuously disappointed by Starfield‘s lack of presence at major gaming events this year. Whether it be a second DLC, a PS5 port, a Switch 2 release, or all three, Starfield fans are simply desperate to see Bethesda give its latest RPG some TLC.
