Panther is one of the strongest Phantom Thieves in P5X, and here’s how to build her to destroy every enemy in the game.

Yui is a 5-Star Phantom Idol, so it requires a decent amount of luck to pull her at the Gacha Banner. This guide will help players build her more effectively, maximizing damage, priority skills, stats, and recommended Revelation Cards. It also contains lots of useful information on how to play her, and the best team compositions to accompany Bui and her Persona, Apseudes.

All Bui Skills & Passives in Persona 5: The Phantom X

Yui is a jolly and spirited Virtual Phantom Idol, one that the players meet for the first time while playing Harvest World Online and it has become one of the players’ favorite characters. Her Synergy Ranks grant some juicy rewards, but they don’t upgrade her overall stats. Still, she is powerful as they come, and it’s considered alongside Closer, and Mont, one of the best Assassins in the game. Her persona, Apseudes, specializes in powerful follow-ups and criticals that can decimate foes in a few turns.

Her core mechanic is called ‘Jolly Cooperation,’ a passive that increases the chances for Yui executing a follow-up attack on enemies, and also buffs allies’ damage and critical chances. Her whole kit is focused on criticals and electrical damage, which also benefits from the Elemental Ailment Shock. Here’s a full overview of Bui’s skills, passives, and Awareness perks:

  • Electric Bomb: Deals Electric damage to one foe equal to 121.6% of Yui’s Attack. If the foe is not Shocked, there is a 44.8% chance to inflict Shock for two turns. If the foe is already Shocked, damage is increased by 30%.
  • Meta Dynamite: Deals Electric damage to all foes equal to 39.1% of Attack. The main target takes 25% increased damage.
  • Sparky Surprise: Grants ‘Player 2’ to target ally for two turns, and increases Yui’s attack by 25.6%. For two turns, when an ally with Player 2 deals damage to a foe with a skill, Yui performs a follow-up attack, dealing Electric Damage equal to 87.2% of her Attack (can attack up to 2 times). Increases chances of activating Jolly Cooperation by 10% for 2 turns.
  • Thief Tactics: Yui’s Highlight increases Attack by 22.4%, and follow-up attack damage by 16.0% of Yui’s Attack for 2 turns. Activates a follow-up attack after allies deal damage with skills for two turns.1 More: Deals Electric damage to a single foe. Melee Attack: Deals Physical Damage to a foe. Ranged Attack: Deals Gun Damage to foes, can be shot until out of ammo.
  • Virtual Landowner: Increases follow-up damage to Shocked foes by 12.0% (Damage% dealt increases at skill level 2 and 3).
  • Let’s Go Together: When an ally has Player 2, increases that ally and Yui’s critical rate by 4.0% and Attack by 4.0% (% Increases with each Skill level).
Bui activating a Follow Up Attack in P5X

The Shock Elemental Ailment increases the chance of receiving a critical hit by 10% for two turns. Yui can take advantage of enemies suffering from Shock, dealing even more damage to them.

Yui’s most important stats are Flat Damage, Critical Strike chances, and Critical Power, so players should maximize them. Players should also prioritize leveling Electric Bomb and Sparky Surprise. Then level up Thief Tactics and Meta Dynamite for the last. Next, let’s take a look at Yui’s Awareness Passives:

Awareness Level

Passive

Rank 0

Jolly Cooperation: When an Ally deals damage with a skill, there is an 80% chance to activate Resonance, dealing Electric damage equal to 80% of Yui’s Attack as a follow-up attack. After a follow-up, increase the target’s next Electric damage taken by 15% for two turns.

Rank 1

Payappa: Increases the critical rate of follow-up attacks by 20%. Increases critical rate by 10% after landing a follow-up attack on Shocked foes.

Rank 2

Welcome Rain: After performing a follow-up attack on a foe, it increases the Attack of Yui and allies with the Player 2 buff active by 10% for two turns. Stacks up to 3 times.

Rank 3

Rainbow Maker: Increases the base skill levels of Sparky Surprise and Thief Tactics by 3.

Rank 4

Virtual Fertilizer: Highlight now increases critical damage of follow-up attacks by 40% for two turns.

Rank 5

Flower Garden: Increases the base skill levels of Electric Bomb and Meta Dynamite by 3.

Rank 6

Humongously Huge Harvest: If only one foe is present, increases Yui’s follow-up attack by 110% of her Attack. Follow-up attacks deal damage equal to 25% of Attack to all other foes.

Each turn where Yui is empowering an ally with Player 2, is a potential extra attack. Characters like Joker, who can have various extra actions per turn, are the ideal partners of this Electric Assassin, and together they can bring down the toughest foes. On the other hand, Closer and her intense multi-attack kit are the perfect complement for Yui’s abilities, which benefit from attacking shocked enemies. Motoha is a Sweeper, so she specializes in destroying various targets at the same time, and Yui is an Assassin, which focus on hurting single targets.

Best Weapons For Bui in Persona 5: The Phantom X

Cyber Jammers P5X best weapons for Yui

Cyber Jammers are the ideal 5-Star weapons for Yui, which increase critical rate by 18.1%, and also increase follow-up damage by 26%. When a follow-up is activated by an ally with the Player 2 buff, or by an ally dealing Electric Damage with a skill, it increases the follow-up attack by an extra 26%. Since these are only obtainable by spending Platinum Milicoins in the Weapon Gacha, they’re quite hard to get. So players might have to settle for the second-best option.

On that note, the Meta Directors, with their Refactor perk, increase critical rate by 7.3%, and when performing a follow-up attack increase Electric damage by 9.7% for one turn. This buff can stack up to two times. Its a decent 4-Star weapon, and players can acquire it by spending 10 Gecko Coins in the Airsoft Shop.

Players can get more Platinum Milicoin and Gecko Coin by participating in the various events and unlocking all the rewards offered to all players. But Salamander Coins, which are exclusive for Season Pass owners, can be used to purchase a selected 5-Star weapon without the need to draw them in the Gacha Game.

Best Revelation Cards for Bui in P5X

Revelation Cards for Bui in P5X

Completion & Trust: The Completion Revelation Cards set has a base 10% increment on Electric damage, and the full set adds a potential 27% extra Electric damage (9% granted each time Yui attacks with an Electric skill, stacks 3 times). The total of 37% extra Electric damage is ideal for empowering Bui’s already powerful skills. But, since she is a team player, the Trust Mind Card perk is ideal for her kit, since it will increase the Party’s Electric damage by 12% when 3 Electric damage buffs are active.

Power & Growth: The Power and Growth combo is a staple for most of the characters in Persona 5: The Phantom X, since it increases damage by 12%, and will keep increasing damage by 10% extra every 6 turns, up to a maximum of 30%. This ridiculously powerful card set empowers base damage, and since most abilities draw strength from that stat, maximizing it will result in more Electric damage. Yui’s forte lies in causing damage with her Electrical follow-ups and critical strikes, and those are also empowered by base damage. It also increases the maximum stackables of Attack buffs by 5, and more stacked buffs mean more damage.

Leon (Kamiyama) is one of the S-Tier characters in Persona 5: The Phantom X, and here’s the best build to draw his maximum potential.

Best Bui Team Composition in P5X

Best Bui Team Compositions in P5X

As mentioned before, Yui and Motoha‘s synergy is nearly perfect, as these two Electric Damage dealers can supersede each other’s weak points and chain attack combos in quick succession. Wonder equipped with Ame-No-Uzume and Thor to boost electric attacks, and Sarasvati as support Persona. This combination will greatly boost both Closer and Bui’s attacks, while maintaining enough healing to keep them alive during harsh encounters. Both Closer and Bui are squishy, so Sarasvati with Mother Goddess’ Chant can add some mitigation to the mix. Complete the team with Riddle to empower Follow-up and Multi attacks, and Okyann to empower Elemental Ailments and Damage. This fully offensive team requires Wonder to have his All In 5-star weapon, since it boosts healing, shield, and HP recovery on targets, turning him into a powerful Medic.

Yui also pairs well with Joker and Morgana. The first can empower Yui’s passive and act as Player 2 with a more aggressive approach than Closer, since he boasts the ability to repeat actions thanks to his Will of Rebellion. Morgana is also a Medic character that acts as a Attacker pivoting between the roles, and triggering full group healing when his Chivalry passive has enough stacks. And since Chivalry also activates with follow-up actions, this will create a powerful Synergy between the three characters: Electric Damage, Curse Damage, and Healing for everyone. Wonder can act as a secondary Electric Attacker or switch to Physical or Nuclear for coverage, by equipping Personas like Phoenix, Byakko, or Thor.
