Pharloom is filled with various enemies trying to stop Hornet in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Luckily, there are some skills that will help players defeat enemies quickly and the Thread Storm is one of them. It allows Hornet to unleash a storm of silk, dealing heavy damage in a flurry of slashes.
To get the Thread Storm skill in Silksong, players must visit Greymoor and reach the highest point of the Crow’s Nest. Upon arriving in Greymoor from Far Fields, run to the right and keep going until a dock appears surrounded by water. Use the balloons to jump higher until you land on a platform above the Crow’s Nest entrance.
Next, turn left and plunge attack at the balloons to arrive at a higher platform. From there, stay on the left side and use the balloons again to keep jumping higher to eventually reach a small platform. In the previous route, players can make a stop on the left platform that leads to a shortcut to the bench to rest.
From the small platform, you can reach the upper and lower platforms. As the lower one is locked, aim for the higher one to pull the lever. Players need to jump up the balloons in a straight line to land on the upper platform and interact with the lever. Float down slowly until a small balloon appears. Pogo to immediately fly closer to the lower platform. The rest of the way is pretty straightforward from this point onward.
Carefully jump on the balloons to go up, and beware of the enemy waiting for players. Jump on the rest of the balloons to reach the highest platform in Crow’s Nest. Keep going up to reach a new area.
Navigate the balloons and jump higher to eventually inspect a relic and obtain the Thread Storm skill in HK Silksong. If there are no balloons anywhere to reach the top, then players must first enter the Crow’s Nest and pull a lever to spawn the balloons used to reach the highest point.
To unlock the balloons, swim in the water upon reaching the docks and climb to the Crow’s Nest entrance. Head inside and proceed down, then climb the platforms to arrive at a large room. Prepare yourself as Hornet must defeat a boss in the form of a hoard of all different kinds of crows.
Once the fight is over, hit the lever in the higher room to spawn the balloons everywhere, making it possible to reach the highest point.
