Description

Daiwa Scarlet is one of the fastest horse girls in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but you need to train her correctly if you want her to go far in career mode. She may not be as good as some of Umamusume‘s 3-star SSR racers, but Daiwa Scarlet can still hold her own against the competition.

Daiwa Scarlet’s career is difficult for new Umamusume trainers who aren’t too familiar with the inner workings of training and friendship bonuses, but it’s pretty straightforward once you figure out her game plan. She’s a fast Front Runner/Pace Chaser that specializes in Mile/Medium tracks, so her main goal is to blast ahead of the competition and stay in the lead the entire time. That’s hard to pull off, so here’s how you should train Daiwa Scarlet in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

For those wondering how to train Umamusume: Pretty Derby and complete their careers, here’s a simple guide that walks you through each step.

Best Stats for Daiwa Scarlet in Umamusume

Umamusume Daiwa Scarlet Stats

Daiwa Scarlet can be built as either a Front Runner or Pace Chaser because of her A rating for both racing styles, but she’s best as a Front Runner because of her unique skill, Red Ace. This skill only activates when she’s already in the lead during the second half of a race, so you should prioritize Speed over everything else for Daiwa Scarlet.

Since she specializes in Mile/Medium length races, Daiwa Scarlet doesn’t need a lot of Stamina. Still, there are a few Stamina checks during her career, so be sure to mix in some Stamina training here and there to prevent her from getting tired. She can use skills that recover Stamina during races, too, so you don’t need to train Stamina that high. Roughly 500 Stamina should be enough to keep Daiwa Scarlet going on Mile/Medium tracks with some skill usage mixed in.

Power is Daiwa Scarlet’s second most important stat. It helps her maintain her pace on turns and break ahead of the pack during races. Since her goal is to be in front at all times, don’t neglect her Power stat. When you’re not training Speed, you should be boosting Power. Aim for about 500 Power to be safe.

Even though her best builds make use of skills to recover Stamina and boost Speed, Daiwa Scarlet doesn’t actually need that much Wit training. Only use Wit training to recover Energy and boost your friendship with your Support Cards. It’s nice to have, but a higher number in either Speed or Power will always be more beneficial for Daiwa Scarlet.

Best Support Cards for Daiwa Scarlet

Umamusume Twin Turbo Support Card

Whether you build Daiwa Scarlet as a Pace Chaser or a Front Runner, she benefits from having a ton of Speed Support Cards in her deck. Try to use three or four of them. You can fill the other slots with Power and Stamina cards to help raise her other stats. These are some of the best Support Cards to use with Daiwa Scarlet in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

  • Twin Turbo (Speed)
  • Kitasan Black (Speed)
  • Tokai Teio (Speed)
  • Special Week (Speed)
  • Silence Suzuka (Speed)
  • Sweep Tosho (Speed)
  • Mayano Top Gun (Speed)
  • Super Creek (Stamina)
  • Vodka (Power)
  • El Condor Pasa (Power)
  • Agnes Digital (Power)
  • Final Motion (Wit)
  • Agnes Tachyon (Wit)

Of these Support Cards, Twin Turbo and Kitasan Black are the best of the best for Daiwa Scarlet. They come with plenty of skills that benefit Front Runners, restoring Stamina at key moments during races and giving Daiwa Scarlet extra bursts of Speed that will help her stay ahead of the pack.

Other notable inclusions on the above list include Super Creek — who has one of the best Stamina recovery skills in the game — and Fine Motion and Agnes Tachyon, two Wit choices that have a surprising amount of Front Runner-specific skills that’ll be easy to get from training.

Best Daiwa Scarlet Skills

Umamusume Daiwa Scarlet Red Ace Skill

These are some of the best skills to unlock during Daiwa Scarlet’s career in Umamusume:

  • Red Ace
  • Taking the Lead
  • Rushing Gale!
  • Homestretch Haste
  • Swinging Maestro
  • Unrestrained
  • Front Runner Straightaways
  • Front Runner Corners
  • Early Lead
  • Final Push
  • Rosy Outlook
  • Medium Straightaways
  • Medium Corners
  • Huge Lead
  • Sprinting Gear

All of these skills either boost Speed or recover Stamina in Daiwa Scarlet’s preferred racing conditions, so they’ll help her be the best Front Runner possible. This build focuses on the Front Runner style since Daiwa Scarlet’s unique skill — Red Ace — only activates when she’s in the lead during the second half of a race. Red Ace is a huge contributor to Daiwa Scarlet’s success, so building around it is the key to victory.

Of course, you can still build Daiwa Scarlet as a Pace Chaser if that’s your preferred playstyle. All of the above skills and Support Cards will still work great for that strategy as long as you ignore any Front Runner-exclusive skills. Plus, you can always use Legacy Umamsume like Gold Ship or Haru Urara to give Daiwa Scarlet some starting stat boosts that will push her toward different playstyles.
