In order to have successful careers in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, you sometimes need to go out of your way to run specific races. Perhaps this is to fulfill a quest, the Uma you are playing has to run that race, or maybe you are just trying to get as many fans as possible.
One of the many races in the career mode of Umamusume Pretty Derby is the Oka Sho. While this isn’t the most challenging race in the game, it can still pose some difficulty if you aren’t properly prepared for it when it arrives.

There is an in-game goal to win 30 races in one career playthrough in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, which is not an easy feat, regardless of your horse.
The Oka Sho in Umamusume
The Oka Sho takes place during Turn 31, which is the Classic year in early April. It is a G1-graded track, and it is a Mile long (1600m) on Turf. Since most of the Umamusume are Turf runners, you just need to focus your efforts on finding the perfect Uma to run a mile that doesn’t have any scheduling conflicts.
Thankfully, there are plenty of girls who can help you out here. If you don’t have access to Daiwa Scarlet or Vodka, Sakurka Bakushin O and El Condor Pasa are both really good stand-ins that can destroy this race with a boost to their speed.

How to Build Your Uma for the Oka Sho Race
In order to make sure your Uma is as ready for this race as possible, you’ll want to make sure she has plenty of speed. Also, it’s a great idea to make sure that your Uma has a few stamina skills. If you are looking for a great build for the whole career, it’s best to balance training Wit, Stamina, and Speed while still racing enough to level up your Umamusume‘s unique skill all three times.
The Kitasan Black (Fire at My Heels) and Vodka (Wild Rider) are two of the best support cards overall, but they are especially good for getting your Uma to be the fastest she can be. You can also try out Agnes Digital’s Power card or the Wit card with Final Motion.
