Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Release Date Leaked Online
Description
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2‘s long-awaited release date has leaked, with the title potentially slated to hit shelves on October 21. The gothic horror RPG has had a long and tumultuous dev cycle, but things have calmed over the past few months, and now the end may finally be in sight. Fans won’t have to wait much longer to play Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, even if developer The Chinese Room hasn’t officially announced the release date.
Publisher Paradox Interactive first announced Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 in 2019 during that year’s GDC. Even at that point, the wait for the sequel had been a lengthy one, with the original Bloodlines coming out all the way back in 2004. At the time, Paradox was aiming for a first-quarter 2020 release, but development would end up taking much longer than initially planned.
Leaked Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Release Date
Thanks to a pre-order page on Filipino retailer Game Xtreme, fans have concluded that Bloodlines 2 is set to come out on October 21 of this year. The page does elaborate that the release date is subject to change, so there’s still a possibility that the game won’t come out then. However, the listed date is consistent with The Chinese Room’s earlier announcement that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 would launch in October 2025, and the studio said that work on the title was largely done at that point. Given that older update, it seems like a safe bet that the game will finally come out just before Halloween.
It has been a long, difficult road up to this point. Before landing on its final October release window, Bloodlines 2 went through multiple delays, and it even switched developers during that time. The Chinese Room took over development in 2021 after one of the game’s earlier delays, before needing to push the release date back even further on more than one occasion. Not long ago, The Chinese Room also suffered layoffs during a restructuring effort at its then-parent company, Sumo Digital, but the team was still able to maintain its promised October 2025 launch.
Now, The Chinese Room has gained independence from Sumo Digital, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is finally on the horizon. It’s uncertain how fans will feel about the game after such a long dev cycle and an even longer wait since the original Bloodlines, but gamers won’t need to wait much longer to find out for themselves.
