A reliable industry insider and Call of Duty: Warzone leaker has revealed some new details on the free-to-play shooter’s potential new Resurgence map for Black Ops 7, and there’s a good chance that fans won’t be happy. Publisher Activision has yet to reveal any specific details on what Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will bring to Warzone, but it is now being claimed that fans can expect a brand-new Resurgence map with an unexpected twist.

With each new Call of Duty comes some big changes to Warzone, and it’s unlikely that Black Ops 7 will be any different. As of right now, there’s no confirmation as to what fans can expect, but the very first season for a new title often incorporates any new mechanics, weapons, and more. As it has now been confirmed that Black Ops 7 will feature wall-jumping and an evolved omnimovement system, that likely means Warzone fans can expect these very same features to make their way into the free-to-play Battle Royale title with Season 1.

Warzone’s Next Resurgence Map Has Been Leaked

When it comes to new maps, be it Resurgence or Battle Royale, Warzone has had very little luck in recreating the success of Rebirth Island and Verdansk. Many maps have come and gone over the years, but they’ve all failed in capturing the magic of the original duo. But it looks like Black Ops 7 is going to be taking another swing at a Resurgence map, as credible leaker TheGhostOfHope says it will be released with Season 1 in late 2025. However, Hope followed up the leak with an unexpected twist, claiming it will be an extended version of the Black Ops 6 Zombies map Liberty Falls.

Another prominent Call of Duty leaker, RealityUK, also chimed in with even more information. According to the insider, the new Resurgence map for Call of Duty: Warzone will not only feature Liberty Falls, but also numerous other Zombies maps, including Shattered Veil and “other places.” If these leaks are to be believed, it looks like the next Resurgence map will solely consist of locations from previous Black Ops 6 Zombies maps. As expected, fans are already outraged by the decision, with many blasting it as “lazy.”

For now, fans will have to wait and see what Treyarch and Raven have in store for Season 1. There are very few official details surrounding Black Ops 7‘s integration with Warzone, but Activision has confirmed that its yearly COD Next event will return on September 30, which means more information will likely be shared then. For those just eager to go hands-on with the next Call of Duty‘s Multiplayer, the official Black Ops 7 open beta will begin on October 2 for those who have pre-ordered and on October 5 for everybody else.
