Diablo 4 has a lot of side activities to complete after beating the main story. Whether you choose to join the Eternal realm and see that story or just jump into seasonal content, it’s important to spend your time efficiently, completing side activities that give out the best loot and the most amount of XP.
One side activity you can find throughout the open world is small Whispers that give Grim Favors. Collecting Grim Favors and turning them in is one of the most rewarding things players can do, especially in the first fifty to sixty levels of a character. In every town is a Raven that asks for your Grim Favors, but should you give them to it?

Usually, after collecting ten Grim Favors, you can return to the Tree of Whispers to get a cache along with a huge sum of XP. Now, players have a choice of giving those ten Grim Favors to a Raven found in just about every major town in the game. The choice mainly comes down to random chance and also what the player is looking for from their Grim Favors.
The Raven of the Tree acts as a mobile Tree of Whispers, and giving ten Grim Favors to any Raven will also let you choose a cache and give the same amount of XP as a reward. The main benefit here is that players now have an easier way to try for different caches. While early levels it won’t matter as much, you’ll later on want caches for specific gear pieces, and the Raven may have different options than the Tree of Whispers. Before turning in your Grim Favors, you can check a few Ravens and the Tree to find the exact Cache you want before spending them and having to earn ten more.

There are a few methods for earning Grim Favors in Diablo 4, with some of the best options being in the Helltide. All of these options will appear as an icon on the map, giving you a general idea of where you need to complete the associated task. Focus on the ones listed below, either for their quick time to complete or best overall payout.
Your best place to farm is the Helltide, so you’ll also earn Aberant Cinders to open chests to get additional loot and XP. Killing enemies in the Helltide will also raise the Threat Bar, which will spawn stronger enemies on you at set intervals. While these won’t help you earn more Grim Favors, they will help your character get stronger faster than just farming Grim Favors out in the rest of the world.
