Wuchang: Fallen Feathers tells the story of Bai Wuchang, a pirate warrior struck by amnesia and the Feathering disease as they travel across the land of Shu during the late Ming Dynasty. Tasked with putting a stop to the darkness intent on ending humanity, players will take on perilous boss battles, learn new skills, and dive deep into crumbling ruins and overgrown temples to recover their lost memories and uncover the truth of the world Wuchang finds themselves in. For players wondering when they can embark on this adventure across Shu, here’s the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers release time.
Whether it’s the punishing difficulty or epic boss encounters, these are the best Soulslike games available on Xbox Game Pass.

When Can You Preload Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?
It All Depends on the Platform
Xbox players can begin preloading Wuchang: Fallen Feathers now. This can be done by either selecting the game from the Xbox Game Pass app on your console, or going through the Xbox app on your smartphone and choosing to install the game on your Xbox console. At the time of writing, the game is taking up 42GB of space on my console’s storage, but this can always change as day one updates and further optimizations are made. The file size can also vary slightly on each platform, so make sure you’ve got at least 50 GB free just to be on the safe side.
On PC, players will be able to preload Wuchang: Fallen Feathers around 48 hours before the game releases, so expect to see the option appear on Tuesday, July 22. PS5 players will also have to wait until July 22 to begin preloading Wuchang, as games are always only made available to preload 48 hours ahead of their release on the platform. Should anything change regarding the preload dates on any platform, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.
Can You Play Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Early?
No Head Start
In recent years, some games have given players the opportunity to play the game ahead of its official release date with an ‘early access’ perk. This has typically been included in more expensive versions of the game, such as Deluxe or Collector’s Editions.
While Wuchang: Fallen Feathers does have a Deluxe Edition, there is no early access perk included in it or available to purchase separately at all. As such, all players will need to wait until the release times listed above to begin Wuchang’s adventure.
