Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Reveals 7 More Games for August 2025

Microsoft has unveiled seven new Xbox Game Pass titles that will be added to the popular subscription service in the second half of August. The list of new Xbox Game Pass titles includes some major additions, such as Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Gears of War: Reloaded.

2025 has been a great year for Xbox’s subscription service, as Game Pass has added over 100 titles so far. The list includes some popular first-party day-one entries, such as Avowed, Doom: The Dark Ages, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered. However, many third-party games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Blue Prince, Balatro, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Assassin’s Creed: Mirage have also been fairly popular.

Now, Microsoft has revealed the second wave of Game Pass titles coming this month, which introduces plenty of variety across all tiers of the service. Two games are already available on the Ultimate and PC tiers: Blacksmith Master (game preview) and Void/Breaker. On August 20, Game Pass Standard subscribers will finally gain access to Goat Simulator Remastered, which was originally added to the higher tiers in November 2024. Also on August 20, Persona 4 Golden will be added to all tiers, and the expedition game Herdling will hit Game Pass Ultimate and PC on August 21. The month will end with Gears of War: Reloaded coming to Ultimate and PC on August 26, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which will also be available in the same tiers on August 28.

Seven Titles Announced for Xbox Game Pass’s August 2025 Wave 2

While most subscribers will find at least one of these seven new games entertaining, Gears of War: Reloaded and Dragon Age: The Veilguard are the clear highlights. The original Gears of War was a highly praised title, and this new remaster appears to be the perfect way to play it on modern consoles. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a very controversial game, but it still managed to obtain an average critic score of 80 on OpenCritic.

Unfortunately, some titles leave Xbox Game Pass every month. Three titles were removed from Xbox Game Pass on August 15, including Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload. At the end of the month, Ben 10 Power Trip, Borderlands 3, Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay, Sea of Stars, and This War of Mine: Final Cut will also leave the service.

In the next few months, subscribers can also expect some interesting additions. Ninja Gaiden 4 will be added to Game Pass on October 21, while The Outer Worlds 2 will hit the platform on October 29. Later in the year, FPS players will get access to the eagerly awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and much more.
