Description

Pokemon Legends: Z-A has pulled the curtain back on Mega Dragonite while simultaneously confirming its early-purchase bonuses. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will launch on October 16, and when it does, it will have a native release available for both the original Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A on the Switch 2 will have enhanced performance, but otherwise the content between the two versions of the game should be identical. As far as what fans can expect, Pokemon Legends: Z-A takes place in the Kalos region’s Lumiose City and features a similar gameplay structure as its predecessor, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but with a revamped battle system and the return of Mega Evolutions.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Release Date Announced

The Pokemon Company reveals Pokemon Legends: Z-A release date, pre-order date, and pre-order bonuses, among other information.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A has yet to reveal all the new Mega Evolutions that will be featured in the game come October 16, but the latest trailer for the game showcased what Mega Dragonite will look like. As it so happens, Mega Dragonite in Pokemon Legends: Z-A looks very similar to what the leaks described. It has feathery wings coming out of its head and shoulders, along with a larger, glowing tail, giving it features that resemble Dragonair. The same leaks have revealed even more new Mega Evolutions set to debut in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but they were not featured in the trailer.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dragonite and Pre-Order Bonuses

  • Ralts with Gardevoirite Stone
  • 100 Poke Balls (digital only)

The trailer did show off two early-purchase/pre-order bonuses that will be available to Pokemon Legends: Z-A early adopters. As long as one purchases Pokemon Legends: Z-A and redeems the gifts by February 28, 2026, they will get a Ralts holding a Gardevoirite stone. If players manage to evolve Ralts into Kirlia and then to Gardevoir, they can use the stone to get Mega Gardevoir. Those that pick up the digital version of the game can also get a gift of 100 Poke Balls. They will have to claim the serial code by February 28, but they have until March 10, 2026 to redeem it.

Having a digital-exclusive early-purchase bonus might ruffle some feathers, but overall, it seems like Pokemon Legends: Z-A fans are excited after the latest trailer. While it didn’t show all that much, finally seeing Mega Dragonite is a treat, and it saves most of the new Mega Evolutions to be revealed within the game itself – barring any other trailers between now and then, of course. In any case, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is shaping up to be a worthy successor to Arceus, and Pokemon fans will see how it stacks up when the game launches on October 16.
